How to spot grind fatigue before it ruins a game for you

How to spot grind fatigue before it ruins a game for you

Every long-running mobile game eventually tests your patience. The difference between a game I love and one I delete usually comes down to how it handles the stretch where novelty wears off and grind sets in.

The first warning sign is when you start playing on autopilot. If you're tapping through the same battle for the tenth time without thinking, the game has stopped respecting your attention. That's a good moment to ask whether you're still having fun or just following a habit.

The second sign is when progress stalls hard. Good games keep the next reward in sight. When the gap between upgrades suddenly balloons, you're often being nudged toward grinding you didn't sign up for.

My honest advice: it's fine to stop. There's no prize for finishing a game you no longer enjoy. Some of my best memories are from games I played for a focused week and then happily moved on from.
